The High Jump organization is seeking the following positions.

PROGRAM AND DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
Job Responsibilities:

Provide logistical and administrative support to executive, program and development directors.
Maintain student, applicant and alumni records.
Input data to and maintain high quality program database.
Assist staff in delivering programming when necessary.
Utilize Raiser’s Edge to maintain development records, acknowledge gifts and support fundraising efforts.
Maintain financial records and serve as liaison to relevant external departments.
Assist in the production and dissemination of all mailings.
Assist in the production of external communication, website maintenance and other outreach efforts.
Help plan and facilitate special events (fundraising, program, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Relentless attention to detail and project completion required.

Experience using MS Office applications required. Experience using Apple computers preferred.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar development software preferred.
Ability to work some Saturdays preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with parents, staff, and community members.
Comfort both with taking initiative and direction as situation demands. Openness to giving and receiving feedback.
Commitment to delivering results for youth in a demanding and collaborative organization.

HIGH JUMP ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012 FACULTY OPENINGS
Part-time seventh and eighth grade instructors: Language Arts, Physical Science (Chemistry & Physics), and Algebra (Math II)

Time Commitment and Location:

High Jump two-year program for 7th and 8th grade students
Session Dates: Saturday, September 17 – April 28, 2012, 8:00AM - 3:00PM
Location: Latin School of Chicago (45 W. North Blvd, Chicago, IL)

Important Program Dates & Required Meetings:
Faculty Orientation – September 10, 2011
Staff Meetings (3:15PM - 4:45PM) – Oct. 15, Nov 19, Dec 12, Jan 21, Feb 25, March 10 and April 10
Session Debrief meeting – May 5, 2012

Qualifications: Candidates should have at least four years of prior teaching experience; a strong background in the course discipline, knowledge of typical middle school curricula is essential; an affinity for working with middle school aged children, excellent communication skills, sound judgment and emotional maturity. Undergraduate degree is required.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with schedule and experience.
